What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural state everyone experiences at least twice a day… when waking up and just before falling asleep. We may also enter natural hypnosis when deeply engrossed in a television show or a good book; when daydreaming; or during meditation or prayer.
Who can be hypnotized?
97% of the population can be hypnotized. The exceptions are those who are educationally subnormal (IQ below 70) or senile, as well as individuals under the influence of large amounts of alcohol and or drugs. People of a higher intelligence level are typically more easily hypnotized.
How does hypnosis feel?
Each person responds to hypnosis in their own way, however you will most likely experience deep physical relaxation, mental calm, and emotional euphoria
Will I lose control?
No. You are always in control and cannot be hypnotized without your permission. You cannot be made to say or do or feel anything under hypnosis that you don't want to. You are simply guided to your most comfortable level of relaxation and given the suggestions that you and your hypnotist have decided will be most beneficial.
Could I get stuck in hypnosis?
No. This does not happen. All hypnotists include an arousal suggestion to bring the person back gently from the hypnotic state. If some emergency should arise, you would become aware of it and take care of the emergency just as you would if you were watching a TV show and someone came to the door. You are in control at all times.
Are the results of hypnosis permanent?
Suggestions stay with some individuals indefinitely, others need reinforcement. The effects of hypnosis are cumulative; the more the techniques are practiced and post-hypnotic suggestions are brought into play, the more permanent the results become.
Is hypnosis medically approved?
Yes. The American Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association have approved hypnosis. I am certified by the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association
